Writing Functions (4-3) [12/5]

Today, we learned the last "new" lesson of the semester!

The warm-up reviews a concept from chapter 1 and also led us into the discussion today. We went over section 4-3 from the book, and there were three parts to the lesson:

1) Writing equations ---- we had to look at the pattern of numbers and write an equation that would go with all of the ordered pairs.

2) Independent and Dependent variables--- we talked about the difference between them and how to figure out which is which.

3) Writing equations in function notation--- for example: y=3x+2. y is a function of x because y depends on x, so you can re-write it as this: f(x)=3x+2.

Due tomorrow: page 253 #3,7,8, 10,11, 12
